Genes derived from ancient polyploidy have higher genetic diversity and are associated with domestication in<i>Brassica rapa</i>

چکیده
Many crops are polyploid or have a ancestry. Recent phylogenetic analyses found that polyploidy often preceded the domestication of crop plants. One explanation for this observation is increased genetic diversity following may been important during strong artificial selection occurs domestication. In order to test connection between and polyploidy, we identified examined candidate genes associated with diverse varieties Brassica rapa. Like all ‘diploid’ flowering plants, B. rapa has diploidized paleopolyploid genome experienced many rounds whole duplication (WGD). We analyzed transcriptome data more than 100 cultivated accessions. Using combination approaches, > 3000 four major varieties. Consistent our expectation, were significantly enriched derived from Brassiceae mesohexaploidy. also observed paleologs non-paleologs. Our find evidence ancient played key role in provide support its importance success modern agriculture.

Ancient genomic changes associated with domestication of the horse.
The genomic changes underlying both early and late stages of horse domestication remain largely unknown. We examined the genomes of 14 early domestic horses from the Bronze and Iron Ages, dating to between ~4.1 and 2.3 thousand years before present. We find early domestication selection patterns supporting the neural crest hypothesis, which provides a unified developmental origin for common dom...
متن کاملMultidrug-Resistant Strains of Acinetobacter baumannii from Intensive Care Unit Patients Show Genetic Diversity and Distribution of Genes Associated with Aminoglycoside Resistance
Background and Objective: As a significant cause of nosocomial infections, Acinetobacter baumannii has been linked to opportunistic infections. The assessment of clonal relatedness of A. baumannii isolates using typing methods like ERIC-PCR is beneficial for controlling conditions due to these resistant isolates. This research aims to study Acinetobacter baumannii resistant isolates to multidru...
متن کاملGenetic diversity of myostatin and calpastatin genes in Zandi sheep
Myostatin (MSTN) is an inhibitor of skeletal muscle growth, and a mutation in the gene coding region leads to increased muscling. Calpastatin (CAST) is a specific inhibitor of the ubiquitous calcium-dependent proteases, µ-calpain and m-calpain, found in mammalian tissues. In this study, genomic DNA was extracted from Zandi sheep blood samples. Gel monitoring and spectrophotometer methods were u...
متن کاملI-36: Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis - Where Have We Been and Where Are We Going
Preimplantation genetic diagnosis (PGD) is now considered routine in IVF laboratories with micromanipulation capability and access to genetic diagnostic services. The past two decades have witnessed a dramatic increase in the use of PGD, the number of cycles performed, and the indications for which PGD has been used. This increase has been mirrored by a slow, but steady, increase in the range o...
